Wednesday Day Trading: Trading Crude Oil for $2,500 today trading 2 Contracts!

Today was simply a beautiful day to trade the Crude Oil market on both sides. We had a long trade today that earned $1,400.00 trading 2 contracts.

To follow up the long trade, then later in the day we have a short trade develop that we we're able to capture another $1,100.00 trading 2 contacts.

• 30 Year Treasury (ZB) trade above is an example of a Short THRUST Bar entry with very nice supporting volume.

• This ZB trade earned $250.00 per every contract traded, or for every 2 contracts the trade earned $500.00.

• ZB market, if you would like to replay it for yourself, then use the ZB1 setting with your Rockwell Trade Navigator. The time of the trade was after 11:00 AM Eastern time.

• We had 8 trades on the week: 4 winners, 1 breakeven, and 3 non-winning trades.

• Breakdown: ES 3 trades, ZB 1 trade, G6E 2 trades, GC 2 trades, and CL 0 trades.

• Overall we ended with a very nice profit on the week trading 2 contracts.

Wednesday Day Trading: Gold Trade not taken

Hello Traders,

Here is an example of looking to go long in Gold, but by placing a buy stop order above the market, you can save yourself some grief on occasion.

Market orders are ok in certain instances, but I would challenge you to consider other forms of placing an entry. By placing a buy order at 934.1 this morning, the market never reached this point allowing you to cancel the open order and conserve your account on a market that wasn't operating the way you would like it to behave.

Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner says he is "quite open" to a massive reduction in the economic power and influence of the United States.

O.K, what Geithner actually said earlier today is that he is "quite open" to China's idea of a global currency system linked to the International Monetary Fund's Strategic Drawing Rights. But it might be pretty much the same thing since the whole point of the embryonic idea is to lessen the influence of the dollar. More from Geithner: "As I understand it, it's a proposal designed to increase the use of the IMF's Special Drawing Rights. I am actually quite open to that suggestion ...[though it should bee seen as an] evolutionary building on the current architecture rather than moving us to a global monetary union."

FOMC Drives Financials, Broader Market Higher

[BRIEFING.COM] The latest policy statement from the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) enticed buyers to enter the bidding process and push stocks markedly higher. Buyers rallied around financial stocks, which yet again helped provide leadership to the broader market.
The FOMC is maintaining a target fed funds lending rate within the range 0.00% to 0.25%, as predicted. Exceptionally low levels are expected for an extended period.

The Fed will bolster its balance sheet by buying up to $300 billion of Treasuries during the next six months. The 10-year Note surged on the news; it finished almost 4 points higher, pushing its yield down to a two-month low of 2.55%.

Asset purchases didn't end there, though. The Fed will purchase an additional $750 billion of agency mortgage-backed securities this year, bringing the total to $1.25 trillion.

An additional $100 billion of agency debt will also be purchased this year, bringing the total to $200 billion.

News the Fed will be expanding its balance sheet weighed on the Dollar Index, which lost 2.7% as it fell to its lowest level since late January.

Still, the Fed's decision to purchase so many of these assets is aimed at helping stimulate the flow of credit and creating demand for the assets.

March 18th, 2009: ZB Move after FOMC Meeting ... wow!

Click on chart for a larger picture. This move if you would have been caught short before the announcement would have produced perhaps a $5,000 to $7,000 loss per contract traded.

This is a perfect example of why watching the FOMC report is of HUGE IMPORTANCE as a trader. DO NOT EVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES CARRY A POSITION IN FRONT OF THIS REPORT!!!

Enough said, on this ... you can't say I never warned you about why I do not like trading in front of the FOMC ... now you know why I feel the way I do about it.

· We had 6 trades on the week: 5 winners, 1 breakeven, and 0 non-winning trades.
